The inaugural Clinical Trial Management training program took place online on Wednesday, 14 June 2023, after 428 participants registered. The session was well attended by up to 168 clinical trial staff representing 30 countries.
The training course is being implemented by UNIVERSAL’s Work package 8 and focuses on improving the capacity of research staff and young investigators to design, implement, and manage regulatory clinical trials, especially paediatric clinical trials.
This was the first module, Introduction and overview of clinical research, which covered benefits of research, different study designs, the drug development cycle, actors in clinical research, good clinical practice, and communication in clinical trials. The French session for module 1 will be streamed on 28th June 2023. The next module, Clinical research set-up, implementation, monitoring and close-out, will be held on July 12th in English and July 26th in French. Participants who have already registered for the next session will receive a reminder before the session. Registration for the next module can be done here https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_R7XAWl3gS8OKyx51yJ1C-g
Participants to this training program will learn about some of the key aspects of successful clinical trial management. This program provides an interactive space for clinical trial staff to explore, share experiences, and discuss concepts and issues related to good clinical trial management.
Overall, it was a great first session all thanks to our participants and trainers. We look forward to a successful training program over the next 6 months.
